Surreal
A word potentially born from the Surrealist art movement in the 1930s(I have done very little research on its etymology don’t believe a thing I say with out a mouth full of sand) . It is formed by using Sur-beyond, over, above; and real… meaning beyond real, something crisp and strange. Recently I was looking for the word in my dictionaries and 2 out of 4 did not have it. 1 had the word surrealism, another had the actual word Surreal, nestled in between Surprise and Surrender. This is the stuff poetry is made of.
Reading this, I felt the quickening of my heart, the understanding the depth I held at my finger tips. This is when I fell in love with Dictionaries. Now I dream of have stacks of them. Rustling through pages daily eyes wild and hungry for the elusive gems they contain. Siiiiigh
