The OPE

The Ope are named after the noise someone is inclined to make when they are gently surprised. Ope are physical representations of Synchronicity, a loving gesture that can encourage an authentic pursuit.

Colored floating creatures, moving infinitely fast and slow at the same time barely perceivable to the human conscious.

It is that little twinkle that catches your eye and turns your head.

They are the children of great Ideas, in search of the minds that can hold such Ideas, loitering about nudging the greatness out.

They are Lucky and Joyful, Solemn, and Stern.

(They are what makes my whole-self smile to create. When I draw them I feel like I’m building them out of clay, and when they are complete they look up at me and smirk, always antsy to get out of the house.)

They help remind us to keep our eyes and mind open, hang the sails loose to catch the winds; for it seems Ideas, those ethereal whales ever floating in our midst, are ever searching for minds to swim in. The more open the mind the more apt for a whale playground.

(For ever and always when I place an Ope it is with trickster glee and eyes full of sparkles. May they remind you to keep your eyes aware and your mind open.)

A little audible Hmmmmh…. now and again is good for spinning dusty gears.
